Just a few launching notes for the newcomer and the unwary
Watch out for those rocks especially at low tide!
Admittedly the tide was extremely low on the day these photo's were taken(approx. 0.2m above chart datum), and 99% of the time you can sail straight over these rocks. but it is worth knowing they are there. As you can see there are plenty of them, even one straight in front of the slip (arrowed).

It is recommended that you sail in and out of from the beach staying to the old pier side. Also from the pictures you can see that between the taller piles on the old pier there are many stumps that lie just beneath the water at any time other than low water - do not be tempted to go though!. Another hazard is divers, many of which will stray into our launching area. The many moorings can cause difficulties navigating in and out and again at low tide it is worth appreciating that these can have trailing ropes that will snag centreboards and rudders alike. Lastly do not underestimate the power of the ebbing tide especially in light winds. It is recommended to turn left at the end of the old pier then leave 200 yards off the end of the new pier whilst sailing into the bay. Be careful of the fishing lines off the pier as they inevitably have sharp hooks on the end!!
It sounds a veritable minefield but most of the above needs only common sense and good seamanship for you to have no problems at all.
