Required clothing

either a wetsuit (4mm is good) or a drysuit (much more expensive) – shortie wetsuits are ok for warm weather. Wetsuit boots ( thicker soles with tread are good, because some of the beach is shingle)  Or old trainers . A spray top is a good idea, but an old unlined anorak is ok to start with.  Some people wear old shorts over their wetsuits to protect them A woolly hat or a cap is useful for when it is cold. (Tip: Caps can be tied on with string to your buoyancy aid, so you don't lose them)

A buoyancy aid is essential and required by club rules; There are a few old buoyancy aids that can be lent out for a week or two.  However, if you are thinking of buying new kit, ,Mike Cemm (Senior Instructor) can get discounted kit. He can also advise you and may know of any second hand kit that is available.

The club make a small charge for the RYA training books (about £8 to start with).

If you can't make the official training days we can arrange for free "taster" try a sail sessions.
We can also arrange other training days when the club will request a contribution to the costs of running a course.
