The berthing system has the TYPE of berth and GROUP.
|Hard standing||Ground ||(any boat larger than a Laser) |
|Ground – small||(Laser or smaller size)|
|Rack||Rack||(whole rack space eg Topper or 2 kayaks owned by one family) |
|Half rack||(half rack space eg 1 Kayak)|
Ground berths are labelled with a letter for berthing area and a number for space in that area eg B8
Rack space is above ground and the lowest rack is “B” and top rack “D”.
For example a Topper in RG18C: R (for Rack), G (berthing area G), 18 (number along rack), C (second from bottom rack).
Rack restrictions Kayaks, Paddle boards and windsurfers are restricted to 2 per Rack.
Exceptions: For families with 3 kayaks or 2 Kayaks and a windsurfer a top rack can be used if safely tied down at all times.
A family with 2 Kayaks will have 1 rack allocated eg RB5C
A family with 3 Kayaks will have a top rack allocated eg RG13D
A member with a single Kayak will share a rack space and will be allocated L left or R right hand side of rack eg RG14CL (left side).
ALL CRAFT MUST BE LABELLED WITH BERTH OWNERS SURNAME
BERTHING LABELS ARE PROVIDED BUT OWNERS MUST WRITE THEIR SURNAME ON BOAT COVER AS WELL AS HAVING A BERTHING STICKER IN A PROMINENT POSITION SO IT CAN BE SEEN WHEN THE BOAT IS BERTHED. FOR A LASER UNDER A RACK THE BOW MUST HAVE OWNERS SURNAME ON THE COVER OR BOW OF THE BOAT IF NO COVER.
KAYAKS/WINDSURFERS ETC MUST ALSO BE MARKED WITH BERTH OWNERS SURNAME. FOR 2019 AN ORANGE TAG LABEL IS AVAILABLE TO TIEWRAP TO HANDLE OR FIXING TO SHOW BERTHING HAS BEEN PAID.
WARNING NON INDENTIFIED CRAFT WILL BE REMOVED FROM SAILING CLUB
WE HAVE A FEW KAYAKS AND WINDSURFERS THAT HAVE NO IDENTIFICATION. IF THERE IS STILL NO MEMBERS NAME “SURNAME” ON THESE CRAFT BY 23RD MARCH THEY WILL BE REMOVED FROM CLUB AND IF NOT CLAIMED BY END OF APRIL MAYBE SOLD OR TAKEN TO THE DUMP.
