Use of Clubhouse and Sailing Facilities Suspended

Given the government announcements regarding restrictions on non-essential movement to control the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic the Management Committee has decided to restrict access to the clubhouse to those engaged in the management of the club and essential maintenance.  With these restrictions in place we will be able to control the environment for those who will be in the building, including our Chef, who will be preparing home deliveries of Sunday lunches from the galley, to provide an important home delivery service to those in need and self-isolating.

With so many people now severely inconvenienced in their working and social lives and with the numbers of those grieving increasing we believe that the club will be seen to be insensitive and acting against the government’s strategy if anyone is seen to be using the club carpark for personal use, or out on the water.

There is currently no Coast Watch service and the RNLI should only be having to attend incidents involving craft on ‘essential’ business.

We are, therefore, requiring you not to use the carpark and not to use the club facilities for launching boats.

We thank you for your understanding and hope that our collective efforts to stem the spread of the virus will enable us to get back on the water.
