SSC  social Bike ride in and around  Rempstone Forest before the evening Laying up supper

The ride is about 22 miles with no major hills and about half on half off road on good tracks. Off road bikes including hybrids would be best rather than road bikes with  skinny tires

Light lunch at Kings Arms Stoborough where a bike lock might be useful whilst in the pub. (A number of bikes can be chained together if you don’t possess one)

We will meet  at the Banks Arms NT car park Studland at 10.00 for a 10.15 start. If not a NT member there are some free parking places on the road down from the village shop towards the Banks Arms.

We will go along Ferry road to turn off for Greenlands Farm , then on to  Newton, Wytch Farm, Shawford Bridge, to Arne and Shipstal point. Back towards Stoborough  to the Kings Arms for a light lunch.

After lunch we will leave on the B3075 turning off for Ridge  then on to  Soldiers road,  left to skirt Hartland’s Moor  on to Scotland and Norden roundabout . Back past the sewage works and right across Wytch Heath past Higher Bushy farm and Rempstone  farm to cross Kingswood heath back towards Greenland then sharp right across Godlingston Heath Nature reserve and back to Studland.

Please let me know if you are intending   coming so I can book an appropriate table at the pub.

All are welcome

“13kts +” WhatsApp Sailing Group

There’s a new sailing group at SSC called the 13kts + Sailing Group.

The 13kts group organise themselves via a WhatsApp group and sail mostly during the week ad hoc when the wind and tide are right. Preferred winds are 13kts+ though we do go out in lighter winds too, and we’ll sail throughout the whole year.

There’s no safety boat cover with this group but we assist each other with launch and recovery. The group is welcome to all independent sailors, and to join, please email Klaus at: webmaster@swanagesailingclub.org.uk, sharing your mobile phone number which is needed to connect you to the WhatsApp group. You’ll need WhatsApp on your phone too.

See all social sailing groups over here.
