Membership renewals due 1st Feb

The new online membership system has now been rolled out and lead members should all have letters from the membership secretary.

The new system will have sent an email with some help on how to renew and another one with the log on details.

If you haven’t received emails, please look in your junk mail / spam folders in case your filters have rejected the message.  It will be from  swanagesailingclubmembership@gmail.com

If you need a paper copy instead, please email membership secretary Alan Stephen at swanagesailingclubmembership@gmail.com or write to him at the club.

This is a new system, and we expect there will be unexpected issues, so please be patient as they are resolved. Duty management will be moved to this system too over the next months.

Please note that the membership management system has a different URL to this website.

https://shop.swanagesailingclub.org.uk/

You will have a personal different login for that site.

SWAN 4 FOR SALE

Swan 4 is being replaced by a new version in January 2019 and therefore is about to be put on the open market. In case any members are interested here is the option for ‘first dibs.’

As you will know the boat has been well used and has some patches on the tubes and the hull is scruffy but sound. The patches are in the bow area where the anchor has been recovered and scraped the tubes. The outboard is a Suzuki DF50ATL which was bought new in 2015 (but is a 2014 model). It has been annually serviced by South Coast Engineering – they hold the online service record and we have the paper invoices. New bearings and the ball hitch are being put onto the trailer. With some tidying to be done as a winter project this is good value at £4500. Contact timhughes150@gmail.com if interested

SAILING SECRETARY NEEDED

Tim Hughes has been Sailing Secretary for 5 years now and is relinquishing the post, as from the ASM on 25 November. We are therefore looking for a volunteer to take his place. Tim is happy to provide an extended handover for anyone coming into the position ‘cold’ and initially will provide assistance with the more time consuming tasks (if required), while the new person is familiarizing themselves with the position.
If you are thinking of taking up the challenge then call Tim on 07730 445465 to discuss the role of the Sailing Secretary and the tasks that are included.
