2022 Adult Training Programme
Adult Sailing Training for Club Members
(For more information please contact Mike Cemm)
The Club will run dinghy sailing classes every Tuesday evening from 5th April to 6th Sept. Club boats will be available to be booked online. Some of the club boats will be reserved for RYA beginner training. From 28th June we will continue to train with instructors and rescue cover but not in an official RYA format. (Club Training).
Note: Club boats can only be used if you have paid the annual hire fee (£30 in 2022)
Register for training here.
Booking a place on Adult Training
All trainees, instructors, and other volunteers must book through the club web site.
You will need to be logged in and then click on 'Event booking' and select 'Tuesday Adult Training' from the drop down menu.
From this page you can complete your booking.
Start at 6:00 pm for 'on the water' by 6:30 pm. Finish around 8:00 pm. Even if the weather is not suitable we will always run training and the bar & food (training indoors if bad weather).
Trainee sailors will be asked to join the duty rota to take their turn at safety cover and bar/galley duty. Intermediate sailors are encouraged to take part in Club races. Recently qualified Rib drivers are expected to help with safety cover for race days and/or Tuesday and/or Saturday morning (junior) training.
Other Training (as required)
We can arrange for free 'taster', try a sail sessions if you cannot make Tuesday evenings. Extra training days and more advanced training, e.g. Asymmetric, Catamaran, First Aid, VHF, can be arranged but the Club may request a contribution to the costs of running these types of courses, usually to pay for an external RYA Instructor and fuel costs. Safety Training, Power Boat 2, RIB Driver Refresher are usually provided free by qualified SSC RYA Instructors and prioritized for those helping with Club training or safety. Please notify your training requirements, questions or suggestions to: email@example.com
