Dinghy Instructor Course
If you are interested in training up to become a Dinghy Instructor and to volunteer as an instructor at the training sessions on Tuesdays or Saturdays, please contact Sarah Percival, our Training Principal, to register your interest: ssctrainingprincipal@gmail.com
The club subsidises this course but you will need to pay for the course book, certificate and a contribution to the assessor fees to do the course. The expectation is that you will volunteer regularly as a DI on Saturdays or Tuesdays once you have successfully completed the training.
Pre-course requirements: Powerboat level 2, First Aid, Safe & Fun.
On successful completion of the DI course, you will need to join the RYA to gain your certificate.
The club arranges First Aid courses with a subsidy for those willing to volunteer as instructors: £25 for those volunteering as an instructor (£75 full price). The first aid course is a full day which includes a First Aid at Work certificate.
Please see dates in the club calendar for upcoming PB2 courses. The cost for this 2 day course is £50 to cover handbook and certificate and includes the Safety Boat course fee if this course is booked within 12 months of completing the PB2 course.
Safe & Fun is a short online course- a link to book this will be provided once you have booked the DI course place. The cost is £15
