Dinghy Instructor Training Pre Assessment day
0900 to 1700 21st September (in the training room)

This is a day both on and off the water where you do a series of dinghy sailing exercises to demonstrate that you have the skills to train to become a dinghy instructor. You do not need to know how to instruct, the course will teach you that, but you do need to show some some basic sailing skills. The tasks are described here

The trainer is Tom Webster and completing this course is a requirement from the RYA before you can attend a Dinghy Instructor Course.
Dinghy Instructor Course
0900 to 1630 on 2nd 3rd 8th 9th 10th November (using the training room)

This is a 5 day course where you will learn how to teach dinghy sailing skills so that a beginner student can reach RYA level 2 standard. The course outline and requirements are described here

Please note you must attend the pre assessment day on 21st September as well as this course.
The club subsidises these courses to generate dinghy instructors for our training sessions. All members are welcome to train as DI's we are providing the training for a very low cost. You will have to pay for the course books and certificates and a contribution to the assessor fees (Total £40) to do the course. We will expect you to volunteer as a DI once you have successfully completed the training.
We also provide First Aid courses with a subsidy for those willing to volunteer as instructors
£75 full price £25 for those volunteering as an instructor. The first aid course is a full day you will get an RYA First Aid certificate and the trainers can certify you with a First Aid at Work certificate as well.
You will need PB2. The club provides these courses as well.
