Offshore Yacht Racing - Hugh Brayshaw
26th March, 19:00
Hugh went through the RYA junior pathway eventually campaigning a 470 as part of the GBR team just missing out on selection for the Rio Olympics. He made a fairly radical switch to single handed offshore racing competing on the Figaro 2 circuit and completing the Solitaire du Figaro three times. He is currently head coach on the Griffin Project, a RORC initiative to train young people to be able to compete in offshore racing.
To our younger members, this will show you an alternative way you can progress in your sailing, to others, it might just explain what that mass of yachts were doing rounding the Perveril Ledge Buoy at various times through the year.
